Evolution of the main Page

I am working on Standardising and organising the Main page, to conform with most developed Language pages. Please leave your comments here. --Thuvack | talk 10:00, 29 Mawuwani 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Main page Update

Major facelift on main page done up to so far as follows:

  • Main page picture of Tsonga dancers --completed
  • Selected list of other page links (Evolvement of featured pages?) --completed
  • Selected quote of Nelson mandela below strap line --completed
  • Standard wikipedia strapline --completed
  • Recent page created and page count added -- Thanks User:Budelberger
  • Related african languages wikipedia links -- completed

Please discuss or comment on above changes.

Changes that still have to be done:

This page is stll evolving, yet there is no reason why we cannot add a african(Xitsonga) touch to our main page. It is a Xitsonga wikipedia any way.--Thuvack | talk 10:44, 20 Mhawuri 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I am strugling to merge histories of Tlukankulu and Main_Page please help anyone --Thuvack | talk 11:31, 20 Mhawuri 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Main page Acting up

I think there is something wrong with the main page. the left-most navigation menu has moved down the page and left the main banner above alone. Can some one have a look at it. Steve? --Thuvack | talk 06:38, 24 Nhlangula 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Small request

Hello! I am a Polish wikipedian and I would like to ask you for your help - writing a new article about former Polish President who won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1983 – Lech Wałęsa. I have looked for his biography in your Wikipedia but without success. Polish Wikipedians will be grateful for your help. Thank you so much in advance! PS you can find the English version of the article here. Best wishes from Poland, Patrol110 11:47, 26 N'wendzamhala 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the link and suggestion... I promise to get to it as soon as my personal circumstances improve and I am able to be as active as I used to be... :-) == Thuvack | talk 20:54, 28 N'wendzamhala 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Avuxeni! Sorry I don't speak xitsonga, but I'd like to help this wikipedia develop. If you want to write an article about something (for example Afrika dzonga), or even just a few sentences, I'll do my best to help. --Chamdarae (talk)

Hello! I don't speak Xitsonga neither, but I just want to suggest a change to the source; changing the "is" to an "are"? Makes it look better.

connectivity project

Hallo, my name is Anastasiya Lvova, I'm "duty" in Connectivity project. The essence of the "Connectivity" project is to study and enhance the coherence of Wikipedia, or, in other words, to improve hypertext navigation between articles. The project deals with deadends, isolated articles, non-categorized articles, transitivity of the category tree, etc.

We want to work with your language version, but we need configured MediaWiki:Disambiguationspage for it (with direct links to template namespace pages, for example, ru:MediaWiki:Disambiguationspage/de:MediaWiki:Disambiguationspage/fr:MediaWiki:Disambiguationspage). Is it possible to set it up for our usage?

thanks in advance, Lvova 17:56, 13 Khotavuxika 2010 (UTC)[reply]

South African Wikimedia Chapter

Greetings! Discussion is underway to set up a local South African Wikimedia Chapter. There are currently over 25 chapters established around the world, but so far, none in Africa. Currently a group of local Wikipedians are in the process of setting up the South African chapter. If you're interested in being involved in the creation of a South African Wikimedia Chapter, please add your name to the Meta page and also join the mailing list here. Also, email me directly if you would like to be involved in the kickoff Chapter workshop scheduled to be held at Wits University on 7th and 8th August.
